										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Let&#8217;s learn together how to crochet the wheat stitch &#8211; a beautiful pattern using puff stitches! </p>

<p><a href="https://desertblossomcrafts.com/puff-stitch-crochet/" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-lasso-id="2290">Puff stitches </a>are a favorite of mine. I just LOVE the texture they can bring to any project. </p>



<p>One thing I love to do with puffs are combine them in different ways and patterns. So far, I&#8217;ve worked up 4 different swatches that use the puff stitch in a variety of ways. Here is a quick reference list if you want to check them out:</p>

<p>This new stitch, the Wheat Stitch, is probably the most complex of the 4 stitches! It&#8217;s not difficult to make, but it has a few more repeating rows to get the nice pattern you see below: </p>

<p>You can potentially use ANY yarn and hook for this stitch. However, here’s what I used:</p>



<ul class="wp-block-list"><li>Worsted Weight Yarn (I used Mary Maxim Woodlands, but you can use anything)</li><li>H/5mm Hook</li></ul>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">SPECIAL STITCH: PUFF STITCH (PUFF ST)</h3>



<p>YO, insert hook into indicated st. YO, pull up a loop. (YO, insert hook into same st, YO, pull up a loop) 2 times. YO, pull through 6 loops on hook. YO, pull through last 2 loops on hook. </p>

<p><strong>Row 1: </strong>Ch 3, dc in next fsc. Sk 1 fsc, (puff st, ch 2, puff st) in next fsc. *Ch 2, sk 2 fsc, sc in next fsc. Ch 2, sk 2 fsc, (puff st, ch 2, puff st) in next fsc. Rep from * until 3 fsc left. Sk 1 fsc, dc in last 2 fsc, turn.&nbsp;</p>



<p><strong>Row 2:</strong> Ch 3, dc in next dc. Sk next puff st, (puff st, ch 2, puff st) in next ch-2 sp. *Ch 2, sk next puff st and ch-2 sp, sc in next sc. Ch 2, sk next ch-2 sp and puff st, (puff st, ch 2, puff st) in next ch-2 sp. Rep from * until 1 puff st and 2 dc are left. Sk next puff st, dc in last 2 dc, turn.</p>
