I’m so excited to share a brand new crochet shawl pattern with you: The Jadestone wrap! You don’t want to miss this free crochet shawl pattern for Spring!

I actually first made this shawl a long time ago. Back when I first started designing! I loved how the shawl turned out, but I never wrote down the pattern. Let’s just say that was before I learned the important lesson that you NEVER wait months after you design something to write down the pattern

Anyhow, looking back, I’m actually thankful that I didn’t publish the pattern back then because my picture taking skills were not the best! This month, I remade the entire thing—shawl, pictures, etc. and I love the result so much more!

With that in mind, let me introduce you to the Jadestone Wrap!

This wrap is named after the Jade Stone—mostly because the color yarn I chose ranges from a beautiful light Jade to a deep Jade green. Speaking of yarn, I used Lion Brand Shawl in a Ball. Let me just say, it is one of my absolute favorites for shawl-making! That is what it is designed for, after all. The color ways are just so beautiful. And the best part is (just like the name says) you only need one ball to make a shawl! Be sure to browse all the colors and decided which one you want to use below.

Browse Lion Brand Shawl in a Ball

How is it Made?

Before we get into the pattern, let’s talk a few details about this shawl. It is beginner friendly—we’ll just be working back and forth in rows, using simple stitches (double crochets and chains!) Plus, I’ve made a special video tutorial that you can supplement the written pattern with if you’re a visual learner!

Can I Get Rid of the Ads?

YES! My ad-free patterns are available on both Etsy and Ravelry for a small fee ($3-4 usually). Why do I charge? Well, I put out a whole lot of free content on my blog, and that is there specifically to help you out. But when it comes to PDFs, it is a great support my handmade business to sell them at a low cost to you. It takes extra work to put the pattern into a printable format…and plus, the Jadestone PDF includes a stitch-chart that will be of great use! With all that in mind, be sure to check out the PDF version if you are interested.

(Can I tell you a secret? The PDF is on sale for $1 today only since it was just released! All you have to do is use the code JADESTONEDAY1).

Ad-Free PDF (RAVELRY)

I am so excited to share a new free crochet with you…the Aspen Shawl! This easy triangle shawl would be the perfect last summer project.

In case you haven’t noticed, I love lace. It is one of my favorite things to design. With the Aspen Shawl, my goal was to create a simple lace pattern in the body of the shawl, and then add an elegant lace showpiece around the edges.

I think it turned out pretty well! Plus, I absolutely love the hand-dyed yarn I used. It is sport weight yarn from Sapphires n Purls, and it’s absolutely gorgeous! I love the colors and the springy feel of the yarn. Click here to see exactly what I used!

If you’ve never made a triangle shawl before, this one would be a great place to start! It uses simple stitches without—just double crochets and chains!

Another great thing about this shawl is that you can easily adjust it to be ANY size you want! There are only 2 rows of the repeating stitch pattern, and you can repeat them as many or as few times as you’d like.

Want an ad-free, PDF version of this pattern? This premium version allows you to download and print the pattern easily!

This lace shawl features a repetitive and easily memorized lace stitch pattern—which by the way resembles hearts! If it looks too hard, don’t worry. The stitches used are mainly double crochet, chains, and slip stitches!

Crochet Heart Shawl Pattern Inspiration

I’ve always thought it was fun to make little shapes and designs in crocheted lace.

So when I was thinking about this shawl, I really wanted it to feature little lace hearts. I wanted to design a shawl that was perfect for Valentines Day. I hope you would agree I did well!

You could easily wear this shawl for a romantic valentines date night, or just out and about for the spirit of the holiday!

Overall, I’m so happy with the way it turned out. I hope you love the pattern as much as I do!

Heart Shawl PDF Pattern

It is so important to remember that when we purchase from small businesses, we are supporting a real person or family! I appreciate every single order from you guys.

A Mandala Yarn Crochet Pattern

One last thing before we get started on the shawl: we have to talk about the yarn!

I used Lion Brand Mandala for my shawl, and I abosultely loved working with it!

Mandala is a DK (#3) weight yarn, so if you want to substitute yarn, choose one in this weight.

However, Mandala can be easily bought on the Lion Brand website or your local Joann, so you might just want to stick with it!

Crochet Heart Shawl FAQ

Can I use worsted weight yarn to make this heart shawl?

Yes, you could definitely try it. While I recommend sticking to DK weight because it will turn out a bit lighter, worsted weight can also work. I would just recommend staying away from “value” type yarns when making this shawl (like red heart super saver). Something like Caron Simply Soft would be a better choice.

How should I style this shawl?

You can style this shawl in any number of ways. First of all, make sure you wear it on Valentines Day! If it’s cold out, you can wear it around your neck like a triangle scarf. This is my personal favorite way to style it. But you can also drape it around your shoulders too if you prefer that look.

How do you make lace hearts?

This shawl makes lace hearts by using simple stitches. Tall double crochet form the sides of the heart, and a slip stitch is used to pinch the heart together in the middle.

Conclusion

I hope you have enjoyed the Amore Shawl free crochet pattern. This shawl is great for a romantic evening, or a walk in the park. You can style it lots of ways but no matter what, it is sure to be a sure-stopper!
