This lace shawl features a repetitive and easily memorized lace stitch pattern—which by the way resembles hearts! If it looks too hard, don’t worry. The stitches used are mainly double crochet, chains, and slip stitches!

The Inspiration

I’ve always thought it was fun to make little shapes and designs in crocheted lace.

So when I was thinking about this shawl, I really wanted it to feature little lace hearts.

Overall, I’m so happy with the way it turned out. I hope you love the pattern as much as I do!

The Yarn

One last thing before we get started on the shawl: we have to talk about the yarn!

I used Lion Brand Mandala for my shawl, and I abosultely loved working with it!

Mandala is a DK (#3) weight yarn, so if you want to substitute yarn, choose one in this weight.

However, Mandala can be easily bought on the Lion Brand website or your local Joann, so you might just want to stick with it!

Materials:

Notes:

  1. Shawl is worked flat in turned rows, with increases at the beginning and end of each row, as well as increases in the center.
  2. Ch 2 at beginning of rows counts as dc.
  3. I chose to cut the mandala yarn in certain places when the color change was very abrupt (like in the middle of a row.) However, you can feel free to do your color changes however you want.

        1. the one on pinterest and the one pictured on this page on the left, warm shades of yellow and brown. i did check at lion brand.com for colors but maybe it is a discontinue color. I hope not. I would love to use that particular color. thanks for sharing the pattern.

          1. I asked my tester, and she said the colorway is called Centaur! It’s on the regular lion brand page! ☺️

  1. Thank you so much!!! I am currently snowed in with a broken foot & nerve damage in my other foot. I am absolutely in love with your pattern and am so happy that I have yarn at the ready to start my shawl ASAP. Again thank you. This will most definitely keep my house bound blues & also keep my mind off the pain.
