Fun fact: I designed this cowl while sitting in one of my college classes! Yes, I’m serious. One of my classes is super easy and a bit boring, so I usually crochet during the lectures. The good news is…I designed this beauty there, and I also still have an A in the class!

NOTES:

1. Ch 1 at the beginning of each row does NOT count as a stitch
2. The length and width of this cowl are easily adjusted
3. Gauge is not necessary

Materials:

● Approximately 200 Yards Super Bulky Yarn
● Sample Yarn: Bernat Dazzle
● K Crochet Hook

Abbreviations/Stitches Used:

Chain – ch

Yarn Over – YO
Slip Stitch – sl st
Puff Stitch – Puff st
Repeat – rep
Round – rnd
Skip – sk
Stitch(es) – st(s)
RS: right side
WS: wrong side

Special Stitch:

Puff Stitch: Insert hook into indicated st and pull up loop. (YO, insert hook into same st, pull up
loop) twice. YO, draw through all 6 loops on hook.

Instructions:

Ch 70 (or multiple of 2—this is where you can adjust the width if desired). Join with sl st to form
ring.
Rnd 1: (RS) Ch 1 (does not count as st) sc in ea st around. Join with sl st to first sc.TURN.

Rnd 2: (WS) Ch 1, (sc in next st, puff st in next st) around. Join with sl st to first sc

Rnd 3: Ch 1, (puff st in next st, sc in next puff st) around. Join with sl st to first puff st. TURN.

Rnd 4-5: Ch 1, sc in ea st around. Join with sl st to first sc. After Rnd 5, TURN. (70 sc)

Rnd 6: Ch 1, (puff st in next sc, sc in next sc) around. Join with sl st to first puff st.

Rnd 7: Ch 1, (puff st in next puff st. Sc in next sc) around. Sl st to beg puff st. TURN.

Rnd 8-9: Rep rnds 4-5.

Rnds 10-17: Rep rnds 2-9. NOTE on size adjustment: to make cowl longer simply keep
repeating rnds 2-9 from here.

Rnds 18-19: Rep rnds 2-3 once more.

Last row: Ch 1, sc in ea st around. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off and weave in ends.
