<span id="more-3479"></span>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="735" height="1102" src="https://i2.wp.com/desertblossomcrafts.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/peacock-cowl—free-crochet-pattern1.png?fit=683%2C1024" alt="Peacock Cowl—free crochet pattern" class="wp-image-3530" srcset="https://desertblossomcrafts.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/peacock-cowl—free-crochet-pattern1.png 735w, https://desertblossomcrafts.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/peacock-cowl—free-crochet-pattern1-200x300.png 200w, https://desertblossomcrafts.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/peacock-cowl—free-crochet-pattern1-683x1024.png 683w, https://desertblossomcrafts.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/peacock-cowl—free-crochet-pattern1-600x900.png 600w" sizes="(max-width: 735px) 100vw, 735px" /></figure>

<p>The Peacock cowl features an easy stitch pattern that is easily memorized. (Whether you&#8217;re memorizing crochet or <a href="https://littleredpiano.com/memorize-piano-chords/" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-lasso-id="1390">memorizing piano chords</a>, always take your time! The fact that this project has few row repeat really helps).</p>

<p>It is also a 1-skein project, which is always the best, isn&#8217;t it?! </p>

<p>The yarn I used for my cowl is <a href="https://www.marymaxim.com/mary-maxim-prism-yarn.html" data-lasso-id="1391">Mary Maxim Prism.</a> To get the same effect as mine, I highly recommend using this yarn! However, if you&#8217;d like a good substitute, I also recommend <a href="http://shrsl.com/yrac" data-lasso-id="1392">Lion Brand Mandala</a> or <a href="http://shrsl.com/we60" data-lasso-id="1393">Lion Brand Cupcake.</a> </p>

<p>Both of these are also multicolored and DK weight, the same as Prism yarn! </p>

<p>Fun fact: I designed this cowl while sitting in one of my college classes! Yes, I&#8217;m serious. One of my classes is super easy and a bit boring, so I usually crochet during the lectures. The good news is&#8230;I designed this beauty there, and I also still have an A in the class! <img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/1f642.png" alt="🙂" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /></p>
