Tips for Crocheting with One Ball of Yarn
So now you’ve seen all the amazing one skein patterns…but how about a few more tips for working with just 1 ball of yarn?! Here is what I recommend:
- Stick to the yarn weight recommended. If a pattern calls for bulky weight yarn, you’re not going to want to use one skein of DK. Substituting yarns in one skein patterns is okay, so long as you stick to the same yarn weight as the pattern!
- Always check yardage. If you DO decide to use a different yarn than the pattern calls for, there’s a good chance it have different yardage. If that is a case, you could end up needing MORE than one ball of yarn, which kind of defeats the purpose! So check yardage at the beginning to make sure you are on track.
- Have fun and use up those leftovers! Don’t be afraid to get creative with colors and patterns.
I hope you enjoyed this ultimate list of single skein crochet patterns! There are so many great patterns out there, but these are some of my absolute favorites.
