Watermelon Crochet Decoration

I just love decorating for summer! There’s just something about bright and fun colors—which is why I’m so excited to share my newest free crochet pattern with you: Watermelon Crochet Decoration! This is a collection of two summer patterns; a watermelon coaster and a watermelon table centerpiece.

These two patterns are both extremely easy. Basically, you just work in the round using half double crochet stitches! I easily worked mine up in an afternoon, so it also goes super fast. I know you will love these decorations; let’s get to making!

The Yarn

Before we get to the pattern, lets talk about the yarn. I used Red Heart Super Saver. As you probably know, this yarn is inexpensive, yet also good quality. I’ve found it to hold up really well to wear and tear, which is perfect for decor like this! Buy some for yourself HERE.

Notes:

  1. Both the coaster and the centerpiece are worked in the round, joining at the end of each round
  2. Each round will start with a ch 2. This ch does NOT count as a stitch. Join to the first hdc, NOT the ch 2. This creates a more invisible join.
